Recently, Mark harvested his second elk of the season. We’d been hearing about a company, Montana Mobile Meats, that would come to your house and process your harvest right in your driveway. We decided to give them a try.
It was as easy as a phone call. We scheduled a day with Nick Bennett, Owner and Operator of Montana Mobile Meats, and kept the meat on ice in the meantime. It was only a day or so before they could come process our harvest. Apparently we weren’t the only ones “giving them a try” and they had been processing elk from sunup past sundown for weeks.
It was an impressive operation to say the least. In a few short hours Mark and I had his entire bull cut into steaks, roasts, burger, and even some great Chorizo. Their process was clean and efficient and their products labeled and well packaged. Nick and Dustin were incredibly friendly, yet professional and ran an entirely transparent business. Mark and observed their work and as always…. documented the process.
