One of my Favorite Days during Hunting Season

I LOVE hauling a “harvest” out of the backcountry.  It’s my absolute favorite part about hunting.  I know, weird…. but lucky for my husband.  He has a live-in sherpa who loves her job.  Don’t I look like I’m having fun?!

Mark filled his Montana Elk tag last Saturday.  It was perfect timing.  We had just returned from a mid-season trip to Hawaii – Aloha – and he had about a week of rifle season to get it done.  Thankfully he made a successful spot and stalk on day two and called me with the good news.

I couldn’t have been happier to spend a day with my husband in the pristine Montana backcountry… carrying out his harvest, documenting the day, and soaking up each minute of gorgeous weather that this fall has given us.

That’s awesome Katie! My wife LOVES to hunt as well BUT I’m pretty sure if I called her to come pack out an Elk I had taken her reply would go something like this “haha good luck with that honey! Hurry home & I love you!” LOL
